Therapy for eating disorders in New Jersey, New York, & Rhode Island
You have the ability to take back your life and care for your health in a way that feels right for you
Your relationship with your body can feel complicated- leaving you stressed, stuck, and overwhelmed. You might have a love-hate relationship with food, find yourself counting calories without even realizing it, or feel guilty if you miss a workout. You notice it taking over- controlling the way you think, feel, and move throughout your day. You can see how this relationship has held you back, and you’re ready to reclaim your life on your own terms.
You may have had an eating disorder in the past, or you’re in recovery, but still find yourself struggling with food noise and the rigid patterns that often linger. You know logically it’s not healthy, but you’re still terrified of weight gain. Change can feel scary, especially around food and body image. But deep down, you know you don’t want to feel controlled by it anymore.
Or it may seem like control isn’t fully yours yet
Feeling stressed, anxious, or upset can make food feel like the only comfort that’s available. That’s when you might notice yourself eating past fullness or even binging to try to manage those emotions. It may bring some short-term relief in the moment, but afterward you’re often left with guilt and shame. You know you want to break the cycle, but not knowing where to start- and feeling unsure about what’s ahead- can hold you back.
When stress feels overwhelming, it’s easy to slip back into old thoughts and behaviors- like avoiding certain foods in an effort to control your weight or shape. You’ve worked so hard to get to this place in recovery, and you want to hold onto it. Together, we’ll look beneath the surface at what’s fueling the eating disorder, so you can feel supported in staying grounded in your recovery.

Think of me as an ally in your recovery
I know it can sometimes feel like you’re fighting a battle against yourself and your body. I’m here to be your ally- not to judge you. I’m here to meet you with compassion, validation, and support, while walking alongside you in the hard moments. Over the years, I’ve worked with so many people struggling with their relationship with food and their bodies- both in recovery and in the middle of active eating disorders. My experience treating eating disorders in a hospital setting for 4 years has given me the chance to see the very hardest parts of it, and it’s also shown me just how much healing and change is possible.
Before starting therapy with me, many people feel like their love-hate relationship with food takes over their entire life. Their self-esteem, physical health, and mental well-being often suffer as a result. In therapy, they finally have the space to explore where these thoughts, feelings, and behaviors come from- and begin to reframe them in a way that feels freeing. With support, they start to find hope and build a healthier, more compassionate relationship with food and their bodies.

I want to help you reconnect with yourself and feel more in control of your life
I’ll support you in finding strategies that help you feel in control of your life again. Together, we’ll work on challenging negative thoughts and replacing them with ones that reflect your resilience and strength. I’ll also help you recognize the behaviors and relationships that may no longer serve you, so you can create space for healing your relationship with food and your body. You deserve the knowledge, tools, and support to take your life back- with no filter needed.
My approach to therapy for eating disorders
I approach therapy for eating disorders with the understanding that it can feel like you’re stuck in an endless cycle of negative thoughts. My focus is to help you challenge those thoughts and replace them with healthier, more compassionate ones. Through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), we’ll work together to uncover the underlying beliefs driving your behaviors so you can begin building a more balanced, supportive relationship with food and your body.
MY GOAL IS TO HELP YOU TAKE BACK CONTROL- SO YOUR LIFE, YOUR EMOTIONS, AND YOUR BEHAVIORS FEEL MORE LIKE YOURS AGAIN
I do this by helping you build coping skills that can take the place of behaviors that no longer serve you. Along the way, I’ll bring in psychoeducation to help you better understand how your past experiences have influenced you and how they may still be affecting your present. I also collaborate with dietitians so we can take a holistic approach to treating your eating disorder- supporting both your mind and your body in recovery.
I also work with clients who are in outpatient eating disorder programs such as Renfrew and Monte Nido. If you’re already in treatment, I’ll collaborate with your existing treatment team to make sure you’re getting the support you need. You don’t have to go through this alone- you can take your life back, and I’m here to help you do it.
